KOPEJKA | EARRING GOLD

  • Unique stud earrings from Russian silver coins
  • Kopecks (Russian: Kopejka) were introduced as a form of currency in Russia in the 16th century. The teardrop-shaped coins were created from wire-like silver rods from which pieces were cut off during minting. As a result, the pieces were irregular and their size never corresponded to the entire area of the mint stamp, which is why the front side image and the back side inscription are always incomplete to varying degrees.
  • The obverse of the kopeck shows a riding Tsar with a lance and the reverse shows an inscription in Cyrillic letters.
  • Each silver kopeck is therefore unique and a real antique.
